Introduction of Eco-Friendly Buses in Cities of PunjabPTC is conducting feasibility studies to assess the transport demand on urban bus routes in Gujranwala, Gujrat, Rahim Yar Khan, Sargodha, Sheikhupura and Sialkot. The company plans to introduce diesel hybrid/electric buses in these cities soon. |

3. Pilot of Electric Buses in LahorePTC plans to run a pilot project of Electric Buses in Lahore. The pilot aims to run 27 electric buses on the route from Green Town to the Railway Station, this is to assess the performance of electric buses in local conditions and investigate the possibility of introducing electric buses on a larger scale throughout the province. |

4. Centralized Automated Fare Collection & Bus Scheduling System (AFC-BSS)The AFC-BSS aims to improve the efficiency and delivery of public transport service through automated fare collection, information about travel data and optimizing bus scheduling for streamlined operations of buses. The system will also provide bus information to passengers via mobile application through Vehicle Location Systems. |

5. Command & Control CentreA state-of-the-art Command & Control Center would be established at the electric bus depot which will act like a live hub to manage and monitor service-related data. All bus operations & AFC-BSS will be monitored and controlled by PTC through the Command & Control Center. The Command & Control Center will centralize the monitoring, analyzing and command of the overall operation of all buses operating in the Punjab. |

6. Bus Shelters / Flag PostsPunjab Transport Company also aims to facilitate public transport commuters through the construction of bus stop shelters and flag posts. For this purpose, PTC has constructed 200 bus shelters and 600 flag posts throughout Lahore. In future, the company also plans to construct bus shelters throughout Punjab, where public transport bus routes will be introduced. |
